Next Generation Racing Yacht – Infiniti 52

Article adapted from sailingscuttlebutt.com

Composite Builders is a high tech sailboat construction company just around the corner from Tulip City Brewstillery in Holland, MI, a small Michigan city along the shore of Lake Macatawa.  Known for the partial build of the AC75 for Stars+Stripes Team USA during the 36th America’s Cup, Composite Builders are now building the first of two Infiniti 52s (TP52).

The TP52 is a foil-driven sailing yacht, designed, engineered, and built around the innovative Dynamic Stability System (DSS).  DSS provides proven performance without the risk and cost of more complex class-driven foil solutions and provides significant righting moment allowing the yacht to be sailed with a much smaller crew of 7-8.

The first TP52 will be shipped to the UK to undergo extensive sea trials and crew training. Hull two is under construction at Composite Builders for delivery at the end of 2021.

AB-Marine supplies GORI Race for TP52.  Working closely with Gordon Kay, AB Marine supplied the zero drag Custom GORI Race 457mm x 330 LHS to suit the Beta 45 SP60 saildrive on the TP52.
