Propeller Overhang

Propeller overhang is the distance between the back face of the last strut/cutlass bearing and the forward front face (start of taper) of the propeller hub.  Propeller overhang distance should be no greater than 1.5 times the shaft diameter.  Too great a distance causes shaft whip and therefore vibration even if the shaft is sized correctly.
