Anti-fouling your propeller
Before choosing a propeller or bottom paint for your boat you will need to determine your boats use:

Anti-fouling paint will not interfere with the propeller performance, however make sure that the coating is smooth and does not impair the operation of the blades (gear teeth, bearings, seals etc).
You can coat your propeller with any product that claims it slows growth – Zinc spray, anti-fouling paint, hard antifouling, ablative antifouling, lanolin, silicon based epoxy such as Prop Speed. There is no magic coating that we know of for all conditions. See applications:

We recommend using the type of paint that works best in your sailing area as paint performance differs up and down the coast from cold water to warm water and the types of fouling that occurs in that area.
